Description

Ozempic 1mg Pre-filled pen is a prescription only medication and is indicated for the treatment of adults with insufficiently controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise

• as monotherapy when metformin is considered inappropriate due to intolerance or contraindications
• in addition to other medicinal products for the treatment of diabetes.

It is NOT indicated for weight loss. only x2 pens per patient per prescription. 

1ml of solution contains 1.34 mg of semaglutide*. One pre-filled pen contains 4 mg semaglutide* in 3.0 ml solution. Each dose contains 1 mg of semaglutide in 0.74 ml solution.

Mechanism of action:

The active ingredient in Ozempic is semaglutide, which is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring hormone glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1). GLP-1 is an incretin mimetic, which helps to regulate blood sugar levels.

It does this by helping the body to produce more insulin when needed and suppressing the amount of glucose produced by the liver.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients 

Shelf life

In-use shelf life: 6 weeks.

Store below 30 ° C or in a refrigerator (2 ° C– 8 ° C). Do not freeze Ozempic Keep the pen cap on when the pen is not in use in order to protect it from light.
